Rise of the IT industry
The new millennium has dawned up well concerning the economy and social status of India. The Information Technology in India has grown to an impeccable level in the past 7 years. This has opened up opportunities for millions of Indians in the country and abroad. It has contributed in uplifting the status of most Indians.
Looking at the vast establishments of more and more software companies around the world, it would take about seventy to eighty years for the IT industry to saturate completely. Owing to the good returns in terms of money, most people have shifted their attention towards the IT industry and have started to construct their careers in it. As a result, the number of software engineers in India has grown enormously in this decade. The economy of India has improved to a great extent mainly due to the increase in the number of tax payers from the IT companies. The improvements of Indian multi national companies have roped in a large number foreign clientele. This has definitely contributed to the social development of India.
The development of IT industry has resulted in a lot of adverse effects too. Though the growth has raised the lives of software industries it has pushed the existence of other people steeper. India, basically being a poor nation, has about 90 pc of its population below the red line. These people have been the main sufferers due to the sudden economic growth. Their going has been tough ever since the advent of the IT industry. It is impossible to find a solution to this problem. It is because this difference could not be met by the people unless the number of educated people in India increases.
It is high time that the Indian government takes necessary steps to improve the educational standards in the country. It is a serious issue and must be dealt with very soon because it is the survival of millions of Indians in question.
